What is East Side Fair?
Beyond the traditional I-35 divide lay some of Austin’s most historic, vibrant neighborhoods. Long-marginalized by years of segregation and still predominately African-American and Hispanic, East Side residents boast an Austin experience unlike any other.
As Austin’s metropolitan area grows rapidly, new focus is being placed on East Austin. Development, new residents and transportation upgrades pose new threats, as well as fantastic opportunities. East Side Fair calls out to its neighbors and residents to seize this transitional time. Celebrate the beauty of our streets and our stories; nurture our businesses and our public spaces; and, above all, share what we love about East Austin.
